Step 1 — Before You Come

What to bring

Gathering these in advance makes your consultation faster, more accurate, and more useful. Don't worry if you're missing something — we work with what's available and request anything else after.

  • A government photo ID (Aadhaar, passport, voter ID, driving licence) — needed for registration.
  • Past medical records — any previous consultations, hospital discharge summaries, surgery records, or specialist letters related to fertility or gynecology.
  • Recent test reports — semen analysis, AMH, FSH, LH, thyroid, prolactin, HbA1c, ultrasound scans, HSG reports, etc. Even reports from a year or two ago help us understand the picture.
  • Current medication list — including dosages and how long you've been taking them. Photographs of strips work fine.
  • Your menstrual cycle history — last period date, typical cycle length, regularity. A simple note on your phone is enough.
  • Any prior IVF/IUI records if applicable — protocols, stimulation drug doses, embryo grading reports, outcomes.
  • Your partner — see why this matters below.
  • Questions and concerns — written down. There's no such thing as a silly question here.
Step 2 — At the Visit

What happens when you arrive

A typical first consultation takes 45–60 minutes. We never rush this — it's the foundation everything else is built on.

01

Reception & paperwork

Quick registration at the front desk — basic details, ID verification, a short medical-history form. Allow 10 minutes.

02

Consultation with the doctor

30–40 minutes with Dr. Shankar or Dr. Priya. We listen to your story first, then review your records and reports. No hurry, no script.

03

Examination (if needed)

A general examination and/or ultrasound, only when clinically relevant — in a private examination room with full dignity and chaperone if you prefer.

04

Plan & next steps

We end with a clear plan: any tests to run, lifestyle suggestions, what to expect, costs, and when to come back. You leave knowing exactly what's happening next.

Step 3 — Questions Worth Asking

Don't leave without asking these

Patients who ask more questions tend to make better decisions and have better experiences. A good doctor welcomes every one of these.

What is my specific diagnosis?

Or, if it's unexplained — what have you ruled out, and what's the next layer of investigation?

What's the evidence behind your recommendation?

Why this treatment, and what's the published success rate for someone in my situation?

What are realistic chances for me?

Not the headline rate — the rate for my age, my diagnosis, my reports.

How much will it cost, end-to-end?

Consultations, scans, medication, lab work, procedure. We'll give you an itemised written estimate.

What's the timeline?

How many weeks or months until we know if this worked?

What if the first attempt doesn't succeed?

What's the next option, and at what cost — emotionally and financially?

What can I do meanwhile?

Lifestyle changes — diet, sleep, weight, supplements — that genuinely help (and which don't).

Are there simpler options to try first?

If a doctor recommends advanced treatment straight away, it's fair to ask if a step-up approach makes sense.

Step 4 — Tests You Might Need

What we may investigate

Every patient is different — we only suggest tests that are clinically relevant to your situation. Common first-line investigations may include:

  • Hormonal blood panel — AMH, FSH, LH, TSH, prolactin, oestradiol; sometimes androgens, fasting insulin and HbA1c.
  • Pelvic ultrasound — antral follicle count, uterine assessment, ovarian morphology.
  • Semen analysis — for the partner, following WHO criteria. Performed in our on-site andrology lab.
  • Tubal patency test — HSG or sono-HSG, if blocked tubes are a possibility.
  • Infection screening — basic panel as required by ART regulations and good practice.
  • Specialised tests — only if your specific situation calls for them (e.g. karyotyping, advanced sperm DNA fragmentation, hysteroscopy).

Many tests are done at our clinic the same day. Some need a specific day of your menstrual cycle and will be scheduled accordingly.

Step 5 — After Your Visit

What happens next

You'll leave with a written summary or prescription — and a clear sense of what comes after.

  • If we ordered tests: reports typically come back within 1–3 working days. We'll either call you to discuss or schedule a follow-up consultation depending on complexity.
  • If we recommended treatment: you'll receive a written plan with costs and timing. Take it home, think it over, ask anyone you want — there's no pressure to decide on the spot.
  • If we recommended lifestyle changes first: we'll set a review date 2–3 months out to reassess.
  • If you simply needed a second opinion: you leave with our honest assessment and are free to take it anywhere. We're glad you came.
A Note for Couples

Please bring your partner

Fertility is a shared journey — and male factor contributes to nearly half of all infertility cases. When both partners attend the first consultation, treatment decisions are better, communication is clearer, and outcomes (medically and emotionally) tend to be stronger.

If your partner truly can't come, please share their medical history and any prior reports with us. They're part of this conversation either way.

Privacy & Dignity

Strictly confidential

Every conversation, every record, every detail you share stays inside our clinic. We do not discuss your case with family, friends, or referrers without your explicit consent — even if they ask. Examination rooms are private, the andrology room has discreet access, and a female chaperone is available for any examination if requested.

If anything makes you uncomfortable during your visit — tell us. Your dignity matters more than any protocol.
